Yes. Under UK GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure) and Article 21 (Right to Object), you have the legal right to request that any organisation deletes your personal data and ceases all future processing. OptoutPro exercises both rights on your behalf using a signed Letter of Authority. Every request we send is a formal, legally valid erasure and objection request.
Data platforms are legally required to comply with valid deletion requests within 30 days. We send formal requests with your signed Letter of Authority attached. The vast majority of platforms process these within the timeframe. For those that do not, we send automatic chaser emails and flag them for ICO escalation. The more information you provide, the stronger chances they have of identifying you and therefore deleting you. Whilst most platforms should comply some may request verification.
If a platform does not respond within the 30-day legal deadline, we automatically send a follow-up chaser email. Persistent non-compliance is flagged for escalation to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
You can, but it is a surprisingly time-consuming process. You would need to identify all of the established and emerging sales platforms, track down the correct privacy contact for each one, draft a legally valid Article 17 and Article 21 request, and then chase every platform that fails to respond. It's not a one and done solution, keeping your data secure is an ongoing process that we manage. We contact 20+ platforms on your behalf, three times per year, and handle all follow-ups automatically.

No. Once you have signed up and paid, we handle everything. Your first round of deletion requests goes out straight away. We send a second round at four months and a third at eight months to catch any data that has been re-listed. You will receive a confirmation email when your requests are sent.
Data brokers frequently re-list deleted records by scraping public sources again. Sending three rounds of deletion requests (at signup, four months and eight months) gives you the best chance of ensuring your data stays removed rather than quietly reappearing.
